New Timeline, metallic tray errors (fixed) and genreal update!

Hey Collectors! 

Sorry I missed the timeline for the last month's update. We have been advancing in many areas of the project, but facing new delays. We are still going to deliver we just ask that you are a bit more patient, we know it's asking a lot but we want to make sure everything delivered is up to the quality we want. 

Below are some general updates on the project and a timeline on each part. 

Boxes

Boxesare on the way to us, we did a custom box with print so these look and feel great and also protect the collectors on their way to you. We already placed our order for these and will have them next month. 

Metal Trays

The first batch of metal trays was off-scpecs, thanfully we were able to catch this with only a few actually finished and the factory agreed to re-make those. The problem was the final fit was 3mm + the thickness of the tray, the initial tests were 3mm WITH the thickness included making them fit nicely and slide great. These should be arriving mid/ late December. 

Magnets

We have magnets! at least about 75% of them, enough to get started while the rest arrive. I had to space out and split the massive order into smaller ones that are shipping each 5 days. It was a massive hassle, but at least this way they aren't getting stopped at customs and we can actually start building and packing some final collectors!

Sturdiness Test

We have been testing the magnets to make sure they hold the covers correctly, we originally wanted 4 magnets per collector, but we found that the collector H, V need 6 and the collector X needs 8 to hold great and survive a "shake test" 

Timeline

New timeline is telling us we should be shipping in January (we might be done during december but it's folly to plan anything during December). We obviously over-estimated the times and the amount of hurdles and checks we needed to make to ensure this product. We thank you greatly for your continued support here. Thanks for backing and waiting. I will give a final timeline when things start to arrive and we actually have the product in hand, before then please take my estimates with a grain of salt!

More Delays and new timelines, sorry everyone!

Hi Collectors! 

We will be posting a monthly update to make sure we keep communications with everyone. 

Sadly there isn't much new to report on our side, most of the missing pieces are in process of being made (metal trays) or in transit (magnets, carry holders and boxes). 

Out factory had to move another project and bump us a bit behind, so when we get all the missing pieces they will face a small delay before they reactivate the project and bring the production back from storage for us. This is just the nature of the processes on their side, and since we missed our window for delivery we were pushed back a bit! 

Thankfully all the stuff should be here about mid-month next month. I will report if anything moves faster but we are looking at Nov/ Dec Shipping for these at this point, sorry for the delays we had a pretty tight timeline for this project and wanted to keep it but the inevitable delays struck us. 

thanks for staying here, if there is nothing new I will post a monthly update towards the end of the month! see you then, and we are in the process of finishing this, we will deliver! so please just hold on a little longer!

Hello Collectors!

We have a small fulfillment update for everyone!

Sadly our first batch of metal trays was off specifications (even after doing many tests to make sure of accuracy) meaning we had to scap those and send for a new batch, unfortunately this is being handled by a different manufacturer than our wood partners, so they slated us for the new batch on early September. Meaning we are currently on a small one month delay to start our fulfillment (looking at late September now instead of Late August)

The only other missing piece are the magnets which sadly were taken away by customs, meaning we need to order in smaller batches to ensure they get to us correctly. We have already placed the order for the magnets so they should be arriving in the next couple weeks. 

The rest of the production is complete and ready for final packs. We already have the boxes ready, but since all collectors have magnets we need to wait for them to be fully assembled before moving on to the final packing. 

I will do an update as the final things start to move, we are sorry for the small delay, we are still pretty much on track, it's just a one month delay that we are looking into.

Survey Questions and Manufacturing Update!

Hey Everyone! 

Here with a quick update, first of lets go through the Survey that was sent and some Questions that have been sent to us about it. 

How to tell if you were a backer of the original campaign?

Look at your backed projects, if in them you have a version of the Collectors project that says "Cancelled" then you were one of the backers of that campaign before we relaunched. 

What I am entitled to if I was a backer on the previous Collectors or From Heaven campaigns?

You are entitled to:

• Free STL pack released with the campaign, will be sent to backers along with their physical rewards (digitally but at that same time). 
• 2 Free Trays (Core Trays) or 1 Metallic Tray

How do I know if my Backerkit pledge has incorrect Trays in it?

Go to your pledge in backerkit, and see if the Trays in the reward section match what you want, including upgrades. For most backers this should be fine, but some backers with V Collectors, were only allowed to add H Tray upgrades to their pledge. This is the most important question in the survey, we will go and verify all the pledges and make sure the quantites match to what you ordered. Once we start sending pledges changes to this will come at a cost, so please take a time to go through your pledge and comment on any exchanges that need to be reflected on your pledge. 

The best format for this and the one that would make it the simplest would be "My pledge shows 3 upgrade H Acrylic Trays and they should be 3 upgrade V Acrylic Trays" However we will go through all the surveys and sned DMs to people if we need more clarifications. 

Production Update!

I went to the factory today and Manufacturing of all the Collectors (the actual boxes and trays) is almost complete! The only things missing are the acrylic and premium covers, so we are getting closer and closer to delivery, we still need to pack everything (more updates on that soon) and send it to our fulfillment partner. 

Maybe mini collectors in the future?

So, Because of the size of the Collectors and the standard sheet, we have a lot of leftover material (unprocessed yet) but there is a chance we will make smaller collector boxes out of that, since we already paid for that material it just needs to be processed and we can make standard trays for those. So maybe that is a product we will offer in the product, we still have to cost up the labor needed to shape them up and get them ready. Just a nice way to not throw away any material and offer a different product (will not be Kallax compatible but will still work basically just as well at a slightly smaller size).

Production Underway (quick update)

Hi everyone! 

Collector's Manufacture is underway! there isn't much to report, we have sent the first order (about 90% of the full order) to manufacture, we asked for some pictures of the stacked up Collector piles, so we will report on that when we have them. 

We will start sending messages to the people that had mixups with Collectos V and H trays mixed up in their pledges (this was a restriction that we could not undo on backerkit so there are a few of you on this boat!) 

We will send these through KS direct messages just to confirm your order and number of trays. This is the main reason we sent only 90% of the order so we could correct any mismatched numbers from these corrections so worry not we will make sure you all get what you wanted.
